The Wilder story
Our story begins in 2000 when the Wilder Group, then known as the Africa Eco Wilderness Group, was founded. That same year, we opened our first property, Ilkeliani Camp, located in the world-famous Maasai Mara Game Reserve. From the onset, we set out to wow guests in a unique way by combining the safari experience with luxury in showcasing Africa's beauty. We wanted to craft something special for those guests who enjoy world-class luxury accommodations and bucket list experiences. With five exclusive and intimate boutique camps in operation, each property possessing its own uniqueness, we've cemented The Wilder Group as a leader in the luxury safari segment. And our large fleet of purpose-built safari vehicles and highly trained staff offering 5-star service and culinary experiences complement the magnificence of each property's architecture. With our eyes set firmly on the future, The Wilder Group continues to expand its portfolio by developing new high-end properties and experiences in key safari destinations.

In doing this, we design moments for each individual that range from dazzling bush baths to close encounters on horseback and floating with one’s head in the clouds (quite literally!).
